“The Meriva sits between the Corsa and Astra in terms of size - and it shares components with both of them. It aims to give added practicality in a compact package, with flexible seating, a tall shape and lots of interior space. Rivals are the Fiat IDEA and Nissan Note. It makes for a decent little family car with more practicality than a Focus- or Astra-sized car, but with more compact dimensions making town driving an easier experience. The range was given a light facelift in 2006 (look for the newly added chrome strip across the rear tailgate to identify a facelifted car). A couple of new engines were also added, including a high performance VXR branded version.”
